Helping Hands of House of Prayer Open
CT 06 13 18

A grand opening for the Helping Hands of the House of Prayer, a non-profit resale shop, was held Friday, June 15, 2018, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The organization's goal is to help alleviate poverty and improve the lives of families within the community by offering quality, gently used clothing, furniture, home decor, toys and housewares at extremely low prices or through a voucher program to ensure no one in the community is without basic clothing and other items, according to Terry Taube, a spokesperson for Helping Hands of the House of Prayer. "We will work with other groups in our community who will pass along referrals for those in need," Taube said.

The organization will accept gently used donations. Space is limited and not all donations will be accepted. Items considered to be un-sellable may be refused. Those wishing to donate are asked to call for donation information and times. "The Helping Hands will strive to enhance the vision of the House of Prayer by extending a hand up and showing kindness and compassion to those in need," Taube said. Hot dogs, cookies, and pop were served and items were sold at grand opening prices.
